Psychiatrists mourn 43% decline in use of electroshock therapy

From 1993 to 2009, there was a progressive decline in the number of hospitals offering electro-convulsive therapy or "shock treatment." This means roughly 43% fewer psychiatric inpatients are receiving shocks.

Some psychiatrists are beside themselves.
